Our October Garden

Yesterday I was in the process of collecting together and sorting all my WIPs to show you.....I have quite a few, you know....then the weather turned sunny and I thought I'd better go outside and do some tidying .....so the WIPs will wait for another time.....

So here is a glimpse of our garden instead....

Delicate Cosmos...

Garlic flowers....

Rudbeckia......

A spider above our heads.....

Marigolds....

This sunflower just about to open....

Hot lips Salvia has been blooming all year and is still pretty.....

A sedum.....just bloomed....

Japanese anemone...first time this has flowered.....

Looking forward to roasting this butternut sqaush....

A few damsons this year.....

 Spot the spider!

I've been clearing the greenhouse and tidying the roof terrace....

Still a bit to do yet!!

I've picked the last of the tomatoes and a few sorry specimens of pepper and cucumber...

Spencer has been helping me as always....

There's still lots of runner beans....they have been delicious and tender....we've tried to pick them before they get too big..

Looks a bit cloudy over the town.....time to go in for a cuppa....

If it starts raining, I'll be sorting my WIPs!

I'll leave you with these curious calves that I met on the Common last week...

Adorable innocent little faces...

Thanks for visiting!

  4. Lovely flowers and what yummy produce from your garden! Mine failed ...again, as poison ivy came up throughout and I had to spray chemicals to get rid of it and tear out my entire garden....woe is me! Container gardening for me from now on. I was able to plant some flowers though. Your flowers are so beautiful! I too have been working outside trying to "tidy up" before Winter, gather kindling, bring wood in and get some painting done. It's too hot here in the Summer to do it. I can't wait to see your WIP's! Spencer is all grown up and how handsome is he? He looks like lab with some setter too the way his tail flares out....who knew? He's such a doll and I'm sure guards you against all "the critters" when you're outside. Love the "baby cows".....so cute! I'll be checking for those WIPs! LOL! TTYL!

  6. Your garden is still looking good! I was quite surprised when I looked in mine at the weekend too, there was more there than I thought there would be, roses, dahlia's, I even have some grapes, I don't think they will ripen enough to be edible though, looking forward to seeing your wips :)

  7. Looks great Maggie. I dont blame you for getting out in the garden to make the most of the weather. Its forecast to get much colder later this week so at least you have got some jobs done.
