A Rainbow, Spencer has a Swim and a Sunny Walk

I just had to show you this rainbow that appeared over Minchinhampton Common last week. It was beautiful. Unfortunately a few minutes later, there was torrential icy rain and Spencer and I got soaked!

Spencer has had an exciting week. Chris's daughter Katherine is a veterinary nurse and also works as a doggy hydrotherapist. She had a free space on Friday so we took Spencer over for a swim.  He was a bit worried at first.....

but within a few minutes he was chasing a ball up and down the pool!

Don't you love his doggy life jacket?!!

He had such fun!

Then this weekend Spencer has had his cousin Bella staying over for a sleepover...they get on so well..

I tucked Bella's bed under the piano so she felt safe being away from home....

We took them both up on Rodborough Common for a walk this morning...it was such lovely weather with beautiful blue skies....

We took the path round Rodborough Fort....it's such an interesting building....

I'd love to go through those doors and see inside!

This has been the best day weather wise so far this year.

Sunny, warm and uplifting!

Thank you for popping by.

The Frozen Common

The start of last week was extremely cold.

Rather reluctantly, we left the warmth of the woodburner and ventured up on to the Common to give Spencer his daily scamper around.

Wrapped up in my winter coat (and several layers underneath), hat, gloves and my new cosy cowl, I prepared to brace myself against the icy blast.  I was ever so slightly surprised to find our familar walk looking even more beautiful than usual.

So much so that I hardly noticed the freezing temperatures!

I took some photos so I could share it with you.

Wild Flowers and Gardening

Gorgeous blue skies here today :)

Lately we've been taking Spencer for some lovely walks on Rodborough Common which is only a few minutes away. We've found routes near to us that we didn't know existed. One of the wonderful benefits of dog walking...

We're also getting fitter by the day and are seeing things we wouldn't have noticed before..

Like these lovely flowers on the common..

Pretty cowslips.....There's hundreds of baby ones all over the common....

I don't know the names of these but they're very pretty - does anyone else know what they are?

As we are walking up there most days, it's lovely to see the little changes happening...

And of course, Spencer loves his walks....

He's so gangly when he runs now... it's hilarious - he's all legs! (Spencer not Chris!) :D

That's Rodborough Fort in the background. We are very gently increasing Spencer's walks from week to week as we don't want to overstretch him but we're looking forward to taking him on the circular walk that leads around the Fort.

It's going to be a gardening day for us today...must make the most of the sun before those cold wintry showers return....

Last week, Chris assembled our new little greenhouse..........

And I planted some seeds - veggies - tomatoes, peppers, squash, courgettes and some flowers -nemesias, rudbeckia, geraniums, mesembryanthemums...

Whilst I was seed planting, Chris was busy preparing our veggie patch......

toiling away... he gets all the best jobs! ;)

Today we're planting our veggies :)
.....carrots, parsnips, leeks and potatoes.....

I'll keep you infomed if anything grows!

That should be a 'when' not an 'if' - must think positive - of course they'll grow!

Have a lovely Easter!
