My Doll's House Quilt at Victoriana Quilt Designs

You may remember my little Doll's House Quilt that I made earlier in the year whilst touring in France.

Well I'm delighted that Benita from Victoriana Quilt Designs has invited me to present a guest post on her wonderful site.

Victoriana Quilt Designs features a section called Handwork While You Wait especially for crafters who like to sew/knit/crochet whilst on the move.

There are some lovely tutorials for crafty projects such as a crocheted dishcloth, knitted socks, a hexie needlecase and now.....my dolls house quilt!......All ideal for travelling, waiting rooms, at the hairdressers......

You can see my guest post here.

Victoriana Quilt Designs has loads of lovely patterns and many are free. They include block of the month, quilt patterns, printable quilt labels and much more.  There are also free quilting tutorials.

The Quilt Gallery shows some of Benita's quilts that she has made....they are amazing! I particularly like the family tree quilt...

Thanks again Benita!

Here's a clue.......

Some of you may already know as I gave the game away on Facebook!

See you soon!

These lovely cotton ribbons are new in stock and available in my eBay and Etsy shops...

These little houses are so cute. My favourite is the one with the red roof!

I love the retro feel of this ribbon with the old typewriter font interspersed with the red snowflakes..

Apples and Logs

We've had a lovely Autumn day today........

We've been peeling, coring and chopping apples.

We had collected about four from our garden (not a good year for our apple tree!) and my parents had given us some too.

We made up four bags to put in the freezer ready to make apple crumbles to warm us up throughout the winter months.

Chris asked me to help him sort some logs he wanted to saw up.

I had brought them back from my parents earlier in the week and they needed to be sawn and stacked. My task was to mark them with chalk ready for Chris to saw them, then stack them neatly.

I enjoyed studying the ends of the logs once they had been sawn.

Now we have a good supply ready for the woodburner.....

to keep us toastie warm during the cold months ahead....

This is one of the canal bridges from our walk today....  it looks so pretty with the hanging vegetation...

And I like the reflections in the water...

Thanks for popping by,

Last Week was Birthday Week

It was a big birthday for me last week and I celebrated with a lovely family lunch at the Snooty Fox in Tetbury.

From left to right: Chris, me, Mum, sister Ros, Uncle Brian, sister Clare, brother-in-law Steve (Ros's hubby) and brother-in law Bryan (Clare's hubby).

When I opened my presents in the morning, Spencer definitely had his eye on my new slippers!!

Chris and I spent the day at Gloucester Docks (sounds romantic...!). I hadn't been there for a while and I love looking round the antique centres. The warehouses have been converted and they really are impressive buildings and could so easily have been knocked down in the past. I'm so glad they are all still there.

Most of the warehouses have names...

The National Waterways Museum...

Chris outside Gloucester Antiques Centre.....

I hope you've enjoyed the photos. It was a chilly day and we were glad to get inside the antiques centre and get warm. I saw a couple of pictures I liked but we weren't tempted enough to buy anything. We always enjoy browsing the antiques and other vintage bits and bobs on offer.

Chris also celebrated his birthday a couple of days later and just look at that cheeky Spencer trying to get in on the present action!

Take care 'til next time.
