Fantasie di Forme

My son George visited Rome last month with some friends. They were on a tight budget and stayed in a hostel. I was a bit worried but I was pleasantly surprised when he said breakfast was included and consisted of coffee and white chocolate croissants....... White chocolate croissants? Sounds like heaven.....

I was so thrilled when he presented me with two gifts from his trip!

One was this cute fridge magnet....

And the other was a fabulous bag of pasta!

I think this translates as Fantasy Shapes in 5 Flavours..

I decided the pasta was far too good to eat straight away so I've displayed it in a Kilner jar in my kitchen.....

I've never made pasta before and I can't even begin to imagine how they made all these amazing shapes.....

bunches of grapes.....

not sure what these are but they're interesting....

pretty heart.....

stripey bows......

 not sure......

and flowers......

I'm looking forward to cooking it and eating it though......I wonder how long it will stay in the jar!

Ghost, Meatballs and a Puppy

On Wednesday, my good friend Mandy and I went to see the musical Ghost at the Bristol Hippodrome. It's based on the film with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.

We started off with a lovely lunch and catch up in a nice restaurant and then off to see the matinee of the show. I really enjoyed the dancing and some of the effects were brilliant.

I didn't want to drive home in the rush hour afterwards, so I stopped off at Ikea.......it was just something I had to do ;)

I had Swedish meatballs for tea (my favourite) and then it was time for a spot of retail therapy.

I try to be restrained when I go to Ikea as I know from past experience how easy it is to pop this and that in those big yellow bags and then have a bit of a shock to say the least at the checkout.

Of course I had to browse the fabrics....I only bought a few.......a few metres here and there of the 'Rosali' fabrics.....I read that they were designed by Cath Kidston in her earlier days before she was a household name.....so pretty......

The vintage roses on blue is my favourite.....

Apart from a few other small bits and bobs, I also found a shelf for my workshop/office. I've been looking for somewhere to put my patchwork scrap boxes (see here and here). I persuaded Chris to put it up for me and it's perfect!

We're having a Sunday indoors today as the weather is miserable outside....

Chris is sorting his military buttons.....with Spencer's help of course...

I've got my eye on that little old suitcase!

And I'm putting together some Christmassy fabric bundles to sell at the Malvern Flea Market next sunday....fingers crossed the weather improves by then!

I'll leave you with this little bundle of cuteness! My sister, Ros, and her family's new puppy, Murphy.......

Cute cute cute cute cute....

Thanks for popping by and have a lovely week.

Spencer's Summer

It's been a busy few weeks to say the least. Visiting friends and family, holding a stall at a flea market, attending events at Stroud Fringe Festival and Stroud Theatre Festival, getting my businesses prepared for Christmas and, yesterday, helping my son, George, move into his new student house in Cheltenham.!...... I haven't taken many photos along the way so I thought I'd treat you to a few of Spencer and the fun he's had this summer.

Enjoy!

Good times on the beach......

And first time in the sea!

Chasing seagulls.....

Great times with George when he came to stay.....

Finding out his most favourite thing is climbing right into the cattle troughs on the Common...

Having such fun with his mate Ozzie when he came to stay for the week.....

Showing off jumping the jumps at Stroud Show......

And winning a rosette for doing so!

Travelling adventures in Harvey J.....

In France.....

Climbing the tors on Dartmoor......

Having a whole field to himself in Cullompton, Devon.....

Loving bedtime in Harvey J ......

Enjoying the lovely aromas of the summer sweet peas.....

Charging about like a crazy dog!

Rolling in the grass with lots of snaffling and snuffling!

Wading in the canal.......

Playing with his new favourite toy....a ball on a rope that his mate Ozzie's mum bought for him for having him to stay......

Relaxing in the shade...........

A cool and peaceful doze on his favourite step.....

Lots of love and cuddles with mum and dad......

And of course....just being incredibly cute!

Thanks for visiting!
